During WWII, Chelyabinsk was the major producer of tanks for Soviet Army. One of Chelyabinsk nicknames is “Tankgrad” or “Tankograd”.
Chelyabinsk is one of the most industrial cities of Russia with Tractor Factory, Iron and Steel Works, Electric Plant and more.
